A politcally correct holiday wish

(I did NOT write this. I changed it to italics to emphasize this fact. I saw this on someone's Facebook and copied it. Enjoy!)

To All My Democrat Friends:

Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low-stress, non-addictive, gender-neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasion and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all.

I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2008, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make America great. Not to imply that America is necessarily greater than any other country nor the only America in the Western Hemisphere. Also, this wish is made without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of the wishee.

To My Republican Friends:
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

This implies that Democrats don't celebrate Christmas...and it would be an incorrect assumption. I can't say anything else about this...it's just too frustrating.

Linda - thanks for your comment.

I am sure there are democrats who celebrate Christmas; Hillary and Bill would be in that number. It is just a humorous post that shows how ridiculous it is to attempt to be politically correct regarding Christmas. Things have gone too far when you are not allowed to wish someone Merry Christmas because it might offend someone else. And it is the democrats who seem to be pushing this and other liberal agendas more than others.

It's a joke. Please take it accordingly!

btw, Merry Christmas! Jesus is the reason for the season! That we can agree on : )
